Chaga Cacao Smoothie

Updated: Dec 9

This smoothie recipe isn't just a delicious drink; it's a vibrant blend of nature's finest ingredients, designed to nourish your body and mind.

Starring Superfood

Chaga Mushroom - Chaga mushrooms, a type of fungus found in cold climates, have been used in traditional medicine for centuries. They are rich in vitamins, minerals, and potent antioxidants, including betulinic acid, which has been studied for its potential anti-cancer properties. Chaga mushrooms are believed to offer a range of health benefits, such as boosting the immune system, reducing inflammation, and supporting overall well-being. However, it's important to consult with a healthcare professional before incorporating chaga mushrooms into your diet, especially if you have underlying health conditions or are taking medications.

Ingredients

  • Cacao Powder - This raw, minimally processed powder boasts a wealth of antioxidants and flavanols, linked to improved heart health, mood, and cognitive function.

  • Banana - rich in vitamins and minerals, bananas provide potassium, a crucial electrolyte, and natural sugars for sustained energy.

  • Papaya - This tropical treasure is rich in beta-carotene, vitamins C and A, and minerals, supporting healthy digestion and overall well-being.

  • Dates - Nature's candy, dates provide essential fiber, vitamins, and minerals, promoting energy levels and potentially aiding in disease prevention.

Recipe (serves 2)

· 11/2 - 2 cup milk of your choice, depending on how thick you like your smoothie. (For this recipe I used coconut milk.)

· 1/2 tsp chaga powder

· 1/2 tsp cacao powder

· 1 large ripe banana

· 1 cup papaya chunks

· 2 medjool dates (pitted)

Customization & Tips

  • Milk of Choice - Feel free to use any milk you prefer, be it dairy-based or plant-based. Coconut milk, used in this recipe, adds a creamy texture and complements the tropical flavours.

  • Serving Size - This recipe yields two servings, but feel free to adjust based on your needs.

  • Sweetness Preference - The natural sweetness of the fruits and dates may be sufficient. However, you can adjust the sweetness by adding a drizzle of honey or maple syrup.

Ready to Energize Your Day?

Blend all the ingredients until smooth, pour into a jar or cup, top it off with your favourite Nurish Granola to add a delightful crunch and a burst of flavour.

This smoothie is a perfect way to start your day or enjoy a healthy and satisfying snack.
